The best time to visit Italy, considering both
the weather and crowd levels, is usually in
the spring (April to May) and fall (September
to October). During these months, the
weather is mild and enjoyable and you'll
generally find fewer tourists.
Summer (June to August) can be quite hot
and there’s more crowds and higher prices.
Winter (December to February) is the low
season. It’s cooler, and you’ll avoid the
crowds. The North can get very cold and
snowy, though.

How to Use This Guide
Moderate Budget Edition
The mid-range budget is the most popular choice for travelers.
I include recommendations for hotels that are typically 3 or 4-
star rated, offering decent amenities and convenient locations.
Local and day tours and excursions are usually with a group
of varying sizes, while some attractions are easily self-guided.
In instances where a tour isn't necessary, I provide a walking
map and detailed information. Restaurant recommendations
are mostly mid-range in price, allowing you to enjoy a nice
meal without having to be fancy. And lastly, transportation
options consist of trains and ferries. This is how I enjoy
traveling, too!
I created itinerary guides that offer a day-by-day plan, making it effortless to plan
your dream vacation in Italy. You'll find recommendations for hotels, tours, and
transportation, complete with links to help you book these travel components
without overpaying. Whether you follow the itinerary as suggested or use it to
complement your existing plans, you'll find it incredibly useful. As you browse
through the pages, click on the icons to access additional photos, videos, links,
and audio, to enhance your experience. For customized itineraries, visit

ROME
The Jubilee in Rome, also known as the Holy Year, is a significant event in the
Catholic Church. It occurs every 25 years and marks a time of forgiveness,
reconciliation, and spiritual renewal. The Jubilee officially begins with the opening
of the Holy Door at St. Peter's Basilica, inviting pilgrims to enter a year of grace.
Visitors can expect to see millions of pilgrims from around the world converging
on Rome to participate in religious ceremonies and visit the four major basilicas:
St. Peter's, St. John Lateran, St. Mary Major, and St. Paul Outside the Walls. The
city becomes a hub of spiritual and cultural activities, with masses, processions,
and other events taking place throughout the year.
The Jubilee offers a unique opportunity to experience Rome's history and cultural
heritage. Pilgrims walk designated routes leading to the major basilicas, passing
through historic and spiritual landmarks. The event creates a sense of unity and
faith among participants, making it a memorable experience.
