GETTING TO SORRENTO

How to get to Sorrento

FROM NAPLES

The Campania Express

This train offers a comfortable, air-conditioned ride with reserved seating from

Naples to Sorrento, stopping only at key tourist sites like Pompeii and Herculaneum.

The journey takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes, with one-way tickets costing

around €15. The train runs several times daily, and tickets can be purchased online

or at EAV InfoPoint ticket desks in Naples. Popular choice!

Regional Train

The Circumvesuviana train runs from Napoli Centrale to Sorrento. The journey

takes about 1 hour and 9 minutes and costs between €6 and €10. Trains run

frequently, about every 30 minutes. WORST OPTION in my opinion.

Ferry

You can also take a ferry from Naples Beverello to Sorrento. The ferry ride takes

around 45 minutes and costs between €16 and €40. Ferries run frequently

throughout the day. This option is too much hassle after a long flight.

Bus

Another option is to take a bus from Ferraris-Circumvesuviana station to Sorrento.

The bus journey takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes and costs between €4 and €7.

Buses run frequently, but it can be a bit crowded during peak times. It’s the least

expensive option so I included it.

Private Car

This is the most expensive option at about €68 but offers the most convenience and

privacy. If I am going to splurge on something, this is it!

Drive

If you prefer to drive, take the A3 motorway from Naples to Sorrento. The drive

takes about an hour depending on traffic and costs around €9 to €12 for tolls. When

you approach Meta, pull over when you can to take some stunning photos. Like the

one I took on the next page!
